BIFM level 3 qualifications in facilities management develop learners’ ability to identify and use relevant understanding, methods and skills to complete tasks 
and address problems that, while well defined, have a measure of complexity. It includes taking responsibility for initiating and completing tasks and procedures as well as exercising autonomy and judgement within limited parameters. It also reflects awareness of different perspectives or approaches within an area of study or work.
Who are they for?
Level 3 qualifications are for first‑line managers and supervisors in facilities management and are designed to develop understanding and knowledge of facilities management matters industry. They are suitable also for new recruits into the industry.
How are the qualifications assessed?
BIFM qualifications are assessed against clear learning outcomes setting out the knowledge and skills needed by facilities managers at different levels. 
Assessment tasks are practical and work based, reflecting live business projects and activities – a real benefit to both individual learners and their organisations.
How are the qualifications delivered?
You can choose the centre at which you study, which means you will have a choice of different delivery styles, including face‑to‑face, evening class, distance learning and online learning.
Choose the size
Level 3 qualifications in facilities management are available in three sizes and four qualifications are available; you can choose the size to suit your needs:
  •  Level 3 Award
  •  Level 3 Certificate *
  •  Level 3 Certificate in FM practice *
  •  Level 3 Diploma
*form part of the Advanced Apprenticeship in FM
  • Award – will give you a succinct overview of the basic skills and knowledge needed at this level. 
  • Certificate – will provide you with a more comprehensive coverage of the subject. 
  • Diploma – will provide the full package of skills, knowledge and understanding at this level.
Choose the units
  • Level 3 Award – 2 mandatory units totalling 11 credits
  • Level 3 Certificate (knowledge) – 4 mandatory units totalling 21 credits plus additional 7 credits totalling 28 credits
  • Level 3 Certificate (competence) – 3 mandatory units totalling 14 credits plus additional 14 credits totalling 28 credits
  • Level 3 Diploma – 5 mandatory units totalling 26 credits plus additional 22 credits totalling 48 credits
